Certificate in Secretarial studies from recognized institutions
Experience
A minimum of two years working experience in the relevant field
Summary of the Role
Reporting to the Administrative Manager, the Receptionist will operate a switchboard telephone, receive telephone call and fax, receive and send packages and mails and provide an efficient and courteous service in a helpful and informative manner. The receptionist will be required to perform secretarial duties in support of general office activities
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Receive and welcome visitors to Reception, directing them to their destination, dealing with general queries and making referral to other members of staff as appropriate
2. To operate the School switchboard and deal with school related telephone queries and forward calls to staff as appropriate
3. To assist with the receipt and recording of incoming parcel and mail and providing postal services as required.
4. To provide other general administrative duties i.e. faxing, and photocopying.
5. Carrying out simple administrative functions and day to day secretarial works where required.
6. To assist in creating and maintain a professional and welcoming reception area.
Additional Duties:
· Be familiar with school policies and procedures.
· Attend staff meeting as required.
· Carry out any other related duties as assigned by school Director and or Administrative Manager from time to time

Civil society Officer

Kepa-the Finnish NGO platform is a membership organization of Finnish NGOs and CSOs working on the issues of international development, global justice and equality. It has country offices in Tanzania, Mozambique, Nicaragua and Thailand.
Kepa is seeking a civil Society Officer for its country office in Dar es salaam, Tanzania for a two year period of time starting from June 2014 or otherwise agreed.
The Civil society will participate in the planning and implementation of kepa’s global programme in close collaboration with local CSOs and Kepa’s headquarters in Helsinki, Finland. The Civil Society Officer will work under supervision of Kepa’s Country Director in Tanzania.
Responsibilities
· Participate in the joint planning, coordinating and implementation of kepa’s programme in Tanzania and in the East Africa region,together with local colleagues, country Director and other kepa offices;
· Monitor and analyze the roles,space and state of civil society in Tanzania in the East African region
· Identify parters and network and build cooperation with them together colleagues at Kepa’s headquarters in Helsinki
· Develop Kepa’s umbrella role regionally,including close contacts with Kepa’s member organizations and their partners in the region
· Follow and influence the trends that affect the practices in the development cooperation work of CSOs
· Write news,columns and articles to kepa media and communication channels,as well as to kepa’s member organisations and other Finnish CSOs.
Key qualifications for successful job performance
· Academic degree in development studies or related areas;
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Finnish and English Language
· Knowledge of and experience in varied roles of the civil society and the strengthening process of civil society actors:
· Experience in working in developing country, preferably in East African region
· Knowledge of the work and development cooperation of Finnish and Southern CSOs
· Good cooperation and networking skills
Additional assets
· Working experience from Tanzania or the East Africa region
· Activities in CSOs
· Working Knowledge of Kiswahili.
